Biden to sign executive order on federal funding for Native Americans

President Joe Biden told Native American nations gathered for a summit Wednesday that his administration was working to heal the wrongs of the past as he signed an executive order that seeks to make it easier for Indigenous peoples to access federal funding, and have greater autonomy over how to spend it. Biden also threw his support behind a request to allow Haudenosaunee Confederacy to compete under its own flag in the 2028 Olympics in lacrosse, a sport they invented. Historically, federal policies attacked Native people's rights to self-governance and caused lasting economic damage. Biden said the actions at the summit were “key steps” that would help usher in an new era of tribal sovereignty. “A new era grounded in dignity and respect that recognizes your fundamental rights to govern and grow on your own terms,” he said. “It’s hard work to heal the wrongs of the past and change the course, and move forward,” Biden said. Yurok Tribal Council Member Phillip Williams described Biden’s speech as inspirational. “It felt like our highest official in the land acknowledges the crimes of the past,” he said. “His contribution to society is to help to heal the tribal nations.” Biden signed the order as members of his administration and tribal nation leaders stood behind him on stage at the Department of the Interior. The order in part creates a clearinghouse for Native American and Alaska native tribes to find and access grants and it requests that federal agencies ensure that funding is accessible and equitable. It also gives them more authority over how to spend the money.

Colleen Wing is given a task to be a bodyguard of Worldmind the new Mind Stone bearer because he knows that Thanos is coming for him. Colleen is reluctant about it as she knows that she is no match for the cosmic foe like Thanos and she is just a ninja without superpowers. Nevertheless, Colleen reluctantly agrees to help Worldmind. Just then, Colleen Wing and Worldmind are approached by Thanos the mad Titan who demands for the Mind Stone. Colleen tries to warn Thanos not to come closer but she gets swatted away and was sent flying to the distant part of the forest. Worldmind tries to use his psychic powers on Thanos but he is easily killed by the mad Titan. Then, the Hulk comes in, ready to fight Thanos. It turns out that Hulk got a telepathic call from the Mind Stone bearer in moments before his untimely demise since Hulk is one of the few superheroes who could defeat Thanos to a stand-still. The fight between Hulk and Thanos goes long and hard as they are equally-matched in strength. To cut this long fight short, Hulk manages to get his upperhand on Thanos as the gamma being hated to be called 'Puny' by the mad Titan. Moments later, Colleen Wing comes out of the forest in her new costume. It turns out that the Mind Stone was dropped in the middle of the fight and since the two behemoths were busy fighting, the Mind Stone went to Colleen Wing who seemingly gained psychic powers. Colleen Wing and Hulk manage to defeat Thanos by the former (Colleen) stabbing him while the latter (Hulk) smashes him to the ground.

So, the potential team of new Infinity Watch might consist of the Infinity Stone bearers such as Colleen Wing with the Mind Stone, Hector Bautista with the Time Stone, Ripley Ryan with the Reality Stone, Prince Otherone with the Power Stone, Quantum with the Space Stone, and Multitude with the Soul Stone.

😇 Blorbo: I will choose the one who made me follow you--Nice Holystone! Baccano was such a formative watch for me in high school, especially when 'female characters BAD' and 'het ships BORING' were unfortunately common in fandom discussions. Baccano has such great examples of fun female characters and het ships, and Nice has the best of both worlds. Awesome character design (glasses + eyepatch! scars!), fun personality (genuinely a nice and sweet person despite her kinda scary appearance! Pushes her dear milquetoast boyfriend to be less timid without making him too uncomfortable! maybe a little too much into explosives!), and a total badass to boot. Also, great casting in both the original and the dub! Both are great at being the coolest lady you'll ever meet, but also Colleen Clinkenbeard hit that Chicagoan accent pretty damn well.

But damn, her relationship with Jacuzzi? Maybe the first time I really vibed with a canon relationship in an anime. Admittedly, before then I mostly watched bad shounen, magical girl, and gag anime, but I am so, so weak for characters being comforted about their scars so 'I'll get a tattoo on my face so we both stand out and you don't have to be alone' was earth-shattering. They're just cute AF!!! They're best friends and they're in love and they've got each other's backs.
